Disney Names their Hawaii Timeshare
Disney’s highly anticipated first stand-alone family destination in Hawaii has officially received a name. Disney will be naming their Hawaii timeshare Aulani, which means “the place that speaks for great ones” or “the place that peaks with deep messages.” Disney sought after a name that would reflect the rich history and culture of the Hawaiian Islands.
“We want this resort destination to reflect the vibrant culture that surrounds it. The name ‘Aulani expresses a connection to tradition and deep story-telling and its roots are here in the land,” said Senior Vice President, Creative for Walt Disney Imagineering , Joe Rohde. He continued to express his excitement in the name and said, “We’re so grateful to the local Hawaiians who lead us to the discovery of this name, and our goal is to live to its meaning.”
The Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawai’i is currently under construction on the western Wai’anae Coast of Oahu in the Ko Olina area. The new Disney timeshare is being built on 21 acres and will be situated on a blue lagoon with a picturesque beach. Disney is planning on opening the first phase of the resort in Fall of 2011.
The Disney oceanfront property is planning on having 481 two-bedroom equivalent Disney Vacation Club villas and 360 guest rooms. All accommodations will be decorated with Hawaiian elements throughout including lustrous wood and geometric patterns inspired by traditional kapa cloth, which are textiles made from tree bark.
The Disney Hawaiian timeshare resort will offer state-of-the art amenities and fascinating activities that will bring forth the lively culture of Hawaii. The resort will include an aquatic wonderland with a zero-entry pool, hot tub, and a waterslide. The resort will also include unique recreational activities such as a lagoon for guest to snorkel and a river that will float you down through a specially created volcano outcropping in a tube.
Not only will this Disney timeshare offer incredible amenities, but an environment that reflects the whimsical essences of Hawaii. There will be pathways that will wind throughout a wonderland of water, fish ponds, and tides pools filled with fascinating native sea life.
